Shaun Whatling
I’m married, with a looming son, a naturopathic wife, a dog, who’s my alter ego - and a load of friends whose company really feeds me. Sport’s always been important in my life. At the moment, my personal prescription is tai chi – to balance my energy; weights – to create focus and ‘charge’; and swimming – to stretch me gently into the day. I can’t live without music, but my tastes are … interesting, so let’s not even go there.
I’ve been in sponsorship all my professional life : as rights-holder, as sponsor, as marketing agent and, now, as consultant. Over that time, I’ve been involved in some remarkable sponsorships that have fundamentally changed business dynamics for the companies involved.
So for me, sponsorship has the potential to be the most impacting and most electric of marketing disciplines. And the most demanding.
