Shaun Whatling’s relationship with sponsorship dates back over 20 years and his unusual career profile means he has experience of sponsorship as the Head of Marketing of both a Not for Profit and National Governing Body of Sport, as Head of UK Communications for The Body Shop, as co-founder of the world’s leading and largest action sports agency, and now as CEO of strategic consultancy Redmandarin.
Shaun’s passion for learning means he has often been at the innovative edge of sponsorship, pioneering educational sponsorship in the 80s, at the forefront of content creation in the 90s, and most recently exploring the edges of the brand-consumer relationship with clients.
Shaun has led all of Redmandarin’s direct Olympic client work across three Summer Games, including three partners of London 2012. Shaun’s focus is on ensuring clients maximise the value of the partnership by developing campaigns which directly align against business needs.
Shaun is currently studying an MSc in Organisational Development, exploring the role of sponsorship in supporting internal organisational change.
